Remembering the deaths of 1514 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history 100 years ago.
But there were also 710 suvivors, one of them was Mrs Eleanor Genevieve Cassebeer (née Fosdick).
Mrs Cassebeer boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg as a first class passenger (ticket number 17770, £27 14s 5d). She was rescued in life boat No.5.
Two of her passport applications I found on the web.
The last living survivor, Millvina Dean from England, who at only nine weeks old was the youngest passenger on board, died aged 97 on 31 May 2009. The mystery and hipe on the Titanic is still unbroken. Recently a 1st class menue card was sold for 76.000 £. If you ever come across of a passport of one of the survivors, I would be glad to get some pictures.
On 31-03-12 a new Titanic museum was opened in Belfast, were the ship was once build.
