Beautiful and rare Haiti passport 1955
What you see here is a very nice travel document from Haiti. Meet 25 years young Marc Monfiston. His passport is in excellent condition and was just valid for two years. You will see the document was renewed in 1956 and he was traveling to the USA, I guess to study there. Look at the cover, deep blue color with a golden coat of arms in the center. A pretty piece, isn’t it? Haiti passports are not easy to find so every collector will be happy to have such an item in his collection. Enjoy the pictures. Beautiful rare Haiti passport
Haiti became the world’s first black-led republic and the first independent Caribbean state when it threw off French colonial control and slavery in the early 19th century. But independence came at a crippling cost. It had to pay reparations to France, which demanded compensation for former slave owners. The 19th-century “independence debt” was not paid off until 1947. There have been recent calls for France to repay the money. In recent decades, chronic instability, dictatorships, and natural disasters have left it the poorest nation in the Americas. An earthquake in 2010 killed more than 200,000 people and caused extensive damage to infrastructure and the economy. A UN peacekeeping force has been in place since 2004 to help stabilize the country. Beautiful rare Haiti passport
