Issued to Colonel Haidun Togal on 1. May 1968 to travel to Belgium on official business for the Turkish government as a NATO member. Further research data shows that its bearer was then Air Force Chief of staff in 1971, so quite a career within three years since this document was issued.

 

A rare NATO TRAVEL DOCUMENT of one of its earliest members. Twelve countries were part of the founding of NATO: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In 1952, Greece and Turkey became members of the Alliance, joined later by West Germany in 1955.

But wait… his NATO TRAVEL DOCUMENT comes with a COSMIC TOP SECRET SECURITY  CLEARANCE! This is the HIGHEST SECURITY CLEARANCE someone can get within NATO! Issued by the Republic of Turkey, North Atlantic Treaty Central Council.

Definition: Cosmic Top Secret (CTS) – Applied to information that would cause exceptionally grave damage to NATO and is the essentially the same as U.S. Top Secret.

Turkey has more than 1 Mio military staff, the highest number within NATO after the USA with 2.2 Mio. NATO’s total is 7.3 Mio. The highest military spending is made by far from the USA, followed by France (with spending only 1/10 compared to the USA).

Regarding military power today, CHINA, USA, INDIA, DPRK, and RUSSIA are the top five countries. with active military personnel.

  1. I didnt think I would find this. Amazing. I was actually looking for Ottoman Empire travel documents. Google Hi Jolly / Hadji Ali. He is believed to be one of the first travelers going out of Ottoman Empire. Considering empire founded in 1299 how did they travel? I can give you some names of Turkish historians if you need help.
