Passport Collector Malaysia Melaka
The last time I was in Malaysia was in 2013, but only in Kuala Lumpur. This time I also visited Melaka, which is a great historical place when it comes to Portuguese, Dutch, and British Colonialism. Melaka, is a two-hour bus ride away from KL and well worth a visit. All the historical places are nearby. A day trip is enough time to spend there. Visit the Stadthuys, which explains all the colonial history. Entrance is 4 Euros. Passport Collector Malaysia Melaka
In 2013, I also visited the Amcorp Mall, which hosts a flea market on Saturday/Sunday. In the past, I wasn’t fortunate enough to come across any documents, but this time I had better luck. The Mall is a 20-minute taxi ride away from Kuala Lumpur city center. Grab Taxi is everywhere, easy, convenient, and inexpensive.
I recommend going on a Sunday as then the flea market is the busiest. Please make sure to visit the shop of Mr. Govin. See details below. We had a great chat about collecting and the current market situation. Mr. Govin told me that Chinese collectors are on the rise, searching for items of Chinese heritage. I shared with him that the current passport collector market is at the bottom, while he updated me that banknotes are blooming. Passport Collector Malaysia Melaka
What I like at his shop is his diversity. Stamps, Coins, Banknotes, and binders of old documents. His focus is, however, on banknotes.
